Privacy Policy

LogRaker is a log-monitoring app for macOS, built to keep your data yours. We designed it to collect as little as possible — and in the Mac App Store edition, nothing at all. This policy explains what that means.

Your logs and credentials stay yours

LogRaker connects only to the sources you configure — your SSH servers, local files, and cloud logging accounts (Amazon CloudWatch, Google Cloud, Firebase). Your log data flows directly between your Mac and those sources. We never receive, see, or store it.

The servers, streams, and settings you create are stored on your Mac. Credentials such as SSH keys, passphrases, and cloud access keys are stored in the macOS Keychain. If you enable iCloud sync, this configuration syncs across your own devices through your private iCloud (Apple's CloudKit private database and iCloud Keychain). That data lives in your Apple account; we have no access to it.

Mac App Store edition

The Mac App Store edition collects no data. It does not contact our servers, and it contains no analytics or tracking. Your free trial is tracked entirely on your device, and your purchase is handled by Apple — we never receive your payment details.

Direct-download edition

The edition downloaded from our website is the same app, with a few minimal, privacy-preserving exceptions needed to run it outside the App Store:

• Free-trial integrity. To offer a 14-day trial without requiring an account, we record an anonymized, one-way hash of a device identifier so the trial can't be trivially reset. It is not personally identifying and is not linked to you.
• Aggregate counts. We tally downloads and update checks in aggregate to understand adoption. These are simple counts, not profiles of individuals.
• Purchases. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Polar, which acts as merchant of record and handles your payment information under its own privacy policy. We receive only your order and license details (such as your email address and license key) so we can deliver and support your license.

What we never do

• No advertising, and no ad networks.
• No third-party analytics or tracking SDKs.
• No selling or sharing of your personal data.

Children

LogRaker is a developer tool intended for a general audience and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
